Why should I sell my music with Pezmosis Music Productions?
You know your music is great. The quality is above average and you spent a lot of time gigging, developing, and growing. Now it comes time to sell your music on the internet. You find iTunes and put up your music for sale. Trouble is, it never sells because there is no promotion behind your product, people don’t know how to find the album, and it gets lost in the shuffle with thousands of other bands, good or bad.
At Pezmosis you are part of the Independent Canadian Music Community. People come here to find, create, and purchase solely independent Canadian Music. This makes your music easy to find and easily searched. You are now not lost in the shuffle. You are part of a community of talented artists just like yourself. You are no longer competing with artists who sell millions of copies beside ones who sell next to nothing. You are in a community of like minded individuals with the same goals and aspirations. Pezmosis is a great outlet for your music as well as a networking tool.
Also, unlike other music retailers, there is a submission process. This ensures the music is high quality and content driven. In this way your music will be recognized as professional, credible, and worth while having. On top of this, we want you to be successful, because as you become popular, so does the rest of the community. We all help each other. Keeping your goals in mind, Pezmosis goes above and beyond by promoting your music as being a feature artist, creating a commercial for your new album, making ring tones, radio airplay, interviews, and much more.

Are there any other benefits to selling my music with Pezmosis?
Yes. Pezmosis is always in contact with industry professionals in need of music for film, television, and radio ads. We also get Pezmosis artists into outdoor festivals and special events depending on what the requirements are. Because we have a pool of talent to draw from, we are always looking after the best interest of our artists and pushing their music to the right people. Selling your music with Pezmosis benefits your networking contacts as well as your audience reach.
How do I sell my music with Pezmosis Music Productions?
First, you must have a product. This means an album or E.P. (3-5 songs) recorded at a high enough quality to meet our standards. If you do not have an album recorded, or are not sure about the quality of your recording, feel free to contact us anytime and we will help. Pezmosis has an excellent independent recording facility to help jump start your music career. Second, you or your band must be independent, this means NOT signed to a record label. However, if you are on an independent label you may still come under the Pezmosis umbrella depending on your contract. You must also control 100% of the rights to your songs. You must be the originator of the music, and of course be Canadian.
Next, choose a package. Read and agree to the terms and conditions and submit your music. This submission can either be done by mail or sent via a link through e-mail. It’s that simple!

We want you to be successful because Independent Canadian Music is wonderful. There are many talented bands and solo artists who never get heard because they feel lost or alone. Why are there fees and percentages taken to sell my music?
The only reason why money is charged is to maintain and enhance the community which you are becoming a part of. Pezmosis offers as many free services as possible and is working on increasing all sources of free services for your benefit. However, in order to maintain an established growing community there are many hours of dedicated work that are involved in the selling of your product. Your money goes towards advancing not only the retail and promotion of your music, but all those involved in the community. Also, if you purchase the premium package, you will receive percentages of sales from other artists in the community. That’s right, when other artists make sales, you make money.
What do you mean by keeping 100% of my rights?
You own and will always own complete control over your music distribution and publishing; unless of course, you sell your rights to somebody. Here at Pezmosis we only take a percentage of sale when your music sells from www.pezmosis.com. This is for maintenance, enhancements, and more opportunities for the community. You can still sell your music on iTunes, or wherever else you like, and we will not take anything. In fact, we encourage you to sell your music in as many places as possible. It’s like going to Walmart to buy a specific toaster. You know you want the toast master 2000, but maybe Walmart does not carry the toast master 2000, so you have to go to Zellers. After you find Zellers does not carry the toast master 2000, you go to Sears. Soon enough, you end up settling for a different toaster because you can’t find the one you’re looking for. We don’t want this to happen to your music. The more outlets you have for your product, the better.
What do I do when my music sells?
This is the beautiful part about this process. You do nothing but collect your money. We keep track of the sales and forward the reports whenever a sale is made to your e-mail address. This way you will be able to keep track of the money you make. If the product purchased was a download, there is no action to be taken. If the customer purchased a physical album it is up to you to send them a copy. We will reimburse your shipping costs.
Is there anything else I need to know before I submit my music?
Yes. There is no point in not submitting your music. At the very least it gets heard by professionals and you get a critique of how to improve and what future actions to take. This is a free service, so why not? We are here to help you succeed. It is not easy trying to make a living out of independent music. You work hard for little to no money because you love making music. We also love creating and making music. It’s what we do because it’s a natural love. If you can be successful at it, that’s a bonus!
One last thing, you don’t have to decide on a package when submitting your material. Just keep them in mind. Upon submission approval, a Pezmosis representative will contact you and discuss your options and what will best suit your needs.
